1. What is Dinnr?

Dinnr is short for Dinner – a new social platform to meet new people and have amazing conversations about the stuff that matters in life. As a Dinnr member, you can host and attend dinners.

2. What’s special about Dinnr?

Every dinner has a topic, connecting the host and the guests attending. This combined with a unique format for the evening, creates what the guest describes as “a quite magic atmosphere” of trust, sharing, and connection.

3. How do you join as a Member?

If you have not been personally invited you can apply for membership. Before you apply please read our guidelines and what we expect from Guests and Host

4. What does it cost?

It’s free to be a member. Attending a dinner cost 350 kr./50 US $.

5. What’s in it for the host – and what about payment?

As a Host, you get to decide the topic for the dinner. You also decide how many guests you want to see and what food and wine to serve. For every guest who signs up for your dinner, you get 250 DKR to buy snacks, food, wine, etc. You will receive the payment no later than 3 days after the dinner.

7. What food to serve?

Dinnr is not about the culinary experience, but about creating a vibrant and vulnerable conversation where everybody is inspired to share what’s cooking in their lives. We recommend Hosts to serve only one main dish. Make a simple stew/pot and a salad. Or order high-quality takeaway. Serve 3-4 bottles of bubbles or white wine. Serve chocolate and tea/coffee if you want to top it.

8. What’s a great size dinner?

We recommend dinners of 8 people including the host. This size seems to balance diversity and intimacy best. But you are welcome to host dinner down to 6 people or up to 10 people.

9. Co-host a dinner with a friend?

If you would like to share the work of cooking and facilitating you can co-host the dinner, with a friend. Co-hosting is a great way to share responsibility and can help you feel more relaxed. Join our Facebook group to share ideas and find co-hosts.

10. What is a good topic for a dinner?

At Dinnr we are looking for hosts passionate about creating dinners about topics they have a personal interest in. It can be anything from:
– What are the pros and cons of starting a business with good friends?
– How to handle jealousy in a relationship?
– How do you stay playful throughout life?
– What art, music, or movies moved or changed your life?
– How do you stop ‘being nice’ and set your boundaries?
– How do you express your needs in a relationship?
– How do you want to live when you get older?
– What is our relationship to death?

We encourage you to avoid generic or polarising political topics. The best dinners and conversations typically arise when we share something personal and from the heart.

11. What happens if a Dinnr is canceled?

In case a Dinnr is canceled you will be notified via email. In this case, your payment will canceled. We first bill you after the Dinnr.

12. What happens if you are prevented from attending a dinner?

If prevented please cancel your booking – and send an email to info@dinnr.co In case of canceling less than 14 days before the dinner there is no refund.

13. What happens if something breaks or a Guest messes up my carpet with red wine?

If a glass or plate breaks or something is missing after a dinner, Dinnr covers the Host’s expenses with transparent rates up to a maximum of 2.500 DKR. If you have valuable items as a Host, please make sure not to use them at the dinner and make sure to have home insurance.

14. What about safety, expected values, and behavior?

All members are known by the platform with confirmed name, email, mobile, and address. All guests arrive and leave the dinner together (no exceptions).

We expect hosts and guests to be curious, courageous, present, and open. Leave your phone in the pocket during the dinner. Don’t show up drunk/intoxicated. Have an open mind. Listen more than you speak, and be respectful towards people with a different opinion than yours. Read more about expected behavior and guidelines.

In the rare occasion that you experience a host or guest violating the expected behavior and guidelines, please confront the person in the situation for them to be able to correct their behavior. If you experience situations and behavior that are way out of line/offensive/non-consensual please report the episode and person to info@dinnr.co – with a short description of the incident and your contact info – then we will take action.

15. When do you open in other cities/countries?

Dinnr is right now in ‘pilot mode’ limited to Copenhagen Denmark. When we have evaluated the Copenhagen pilot and adjusted the concept we will start opening in other cities. You will find some of the cities we consider opening in here – and you can vote for your favorites, suggest new, and sign up for a notification.
